PITT OHIO, a $705 million, high service, highly profitable, transportation solutions provider offering SUPPLY CHAIN, GROUND, LTL and TRUCKLOAD services is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team at our Corporate Headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborate with IT staff to deploy standardized support practices and procedures related to Data Hub functions
  • Project management to include allocating tasks, controlling project scope, managing crises, document creation and effectively communicating with various stakeholders. 
  • Data analysis to assist Operations and Admin groups in determining and understanding trends
  • Conduct testing with IT to correct and document malfunctions on all Partnership projects
  • Develop and conduct training as needed for implementation of products and process changes
  • Assist with the diagnosis of Data Hub problems such as data processing, file submissions from all carriers, application damage control and other issues, and communicate those problems to the IT department and follow-up until they are resolved.
  • Create, run, schedule and maintain reports via SQL Report Builder
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to rejected document images, data imports and data integrity
  • Manage the phone, fax and other communication traffic in support of an efficient environment in the Partnership department
  • Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned

Other Duties:

  • Maintain current and historical data, electronically and manually
  • Schedule meetings, appointments and put together high level agendas where necessary
  • Ability to be cross trained in other areas of the department’s business segments for back up duties when others are unavailable or need assistance
  • Maintain regular communications with Manager of Operations
  • Receives and completes requests for support to meet customer needs

Qualifications:

  • Four year degree, preferably in Business, Logistics, Information Systems or Industrial Engineering or related field and/or the equivalent in education and work experience
  • Command of English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Strong project management experience and training
  • Previous exposure to a fast past, high energy and demanding transportation/logistics environment will be an asset
  • Must possess SQL language abilities in reading and requesting information from databases
  • SQL Report writing experience
  • Strong ability to prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines and requirements
  • Handle high volume communications in an efficient and accurate manner
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
  • Must be proficient in using MS Office Suite and Internet
  • Must have experience in using database applications
  • Experience in multitasking with a detail oriented mindset
  • Ability to set and accomplish goals by working independently
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and positively manage customer concerns
  • Must possess exceptional follow-up and organizational skills
  • Reasonable math/statistical/numerical/reporting/presentation skills
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment and energetically share ideas and participate in daily Operations functions
  • Problem solving, negotiation, and time management skills are essential

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work – exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of forces frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Walking and standing are only required occasionally. 
  • Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing computer terminal, and extensive reading.
  • Typical exposure to interior environmental conditions like air conditioning and dust; no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Talking and hearing required to communication with and listen to others to share or receive information.  May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others.
